Team Spirit Win the Eastern Europe DPC Regional Finals

Current world champions Team Spirit have proven to be the strongest team in Eastern Europe – yesterday they managed to defeat Virtus.pro with a 3-0 score, ending the final match in just 18 minutes.

Team Spirit started the event buy an unexpected loss to HellRaisers (1-2), dropping to the lower bracket. There, however, they have not lost a single map and outplayed PuckChamp and HellRaisers. For their win the regional finals the team claimed $50,000 in prize money and 250 DPC points, on top of $30,000 and 300 points they received for their win in the regular season.

This weekend the finals also concluded in North America, where TSM defeated EG (3-2), and in China, where PSG.LGD claimed the factory by outplaying RNG (3-1). The week before it, Gladiators, BOOM and beastcoast placed first in the regional finals of Western Europe, Southeast Asia and South America respectively.

The regional finals were held instead of the cancelled Winter Major. Last week ESL revealed that the upcoming Spring Major will be held in May in Stockholm, Sweden – it is expected to be played out before a live audience at Hovet Arena with a 8000 capacity.
